The Chicago Southland Arts Alliance is pleased to introduce the "Young At Art" program to promote the arts among youths living in the Chicago Southland. Attending, seeing and hearing, a live arts event, is one of the best ways for young people to discover the wonders of the arts. The intention of this program is to showcase the richness and diversity of the Chicago Southland arts scene to our youths, which will help them appreciate the quality of life in the region, and build arts audiences in both the short and long term.
Here is how the program works:
- Any adult 19 years old or older purchasing a regular ticket can receive one free ticket to bring a child or teenager (no older than 18 years of age) to an arts event.
- Eligible youths are students in elementary, middle and high school. Adults must provide the name and age of the youth they are bringing with them. The adult must call the phone number provided by an arts organization to reserve the ticket at the box office in advance.
- No "Young At Art" tickets will be issued at a box office on the day of a concert.
- All participating organizations are identified by the "Young At Art" logo in the monthly Chicago Southland Arts Alliance calendar published in the Southtown newspaper.
All participating organizations are identified by the "Young At Art" logo on the Chicago Southland Arts Alliance website (see logo on right).
- A page on the Chicago Southland Arts Alliance website, http://chicagosouthlandarts.org/youthartspass.cfm, will list all participating organizations as well as the arts event(s) and the date(s) for which "Young At Art" tickets are available.
- The number of "Young At Art" tickets available for an arts event is at the sole discretion of participating arts organization(s) and is subject to availability.
- "Young At Art" tickets are only available to those arts events listed on this webpage.
We are pleased to make this program available to youths to fill seats now empty as a result of two decades of decreasing levels of music and arts education in our schools. This program allows organizations to introduce the arts to a younger audience. Any empty seats are put to good use in order to increase appreciation for the arts and build audiences for the future.
Note to arts organizations: To register for the program, please send an email to: info@chicagosouthlandartsalliance.com.
